Discover the Wonderful World of Toy Trains!
At METCA (Metropolitan Division of the Train Collectors Association), we believe that a love for toy trains starts young, and we’re here to make the journey exciting, educational, and fun! The METCA Kids Club is designed especially for children and teens who are fascinated by trains, model railroading, and collecting.
Ready to climb aboard? There are many ways for young train fans to get involved!
🚂 METCA Kids Club Modular Railroad Program
Kids in the METCA Kids Club are presented with the opportunity to develop their love for trains! That’s why the METCA Kids Club has its very own FasTrack Modular Layout, designed, built, and operated entirely by kids, with a little guidance from adult mentors.
Kids in the METCA Kids Club take ownership of this exciting project by:
- Designing layout sections
- Building and detailing modules
- Setting up and operating the modules and trains at real shows and events
- Learning teamwork, responsibility, and the basics of model railroading along the way
This traveling modular railroad is proudly displayed at select train shows and public events throughout the New York/New Jersey area, offering young engineers the chance to showcase their skills and creativity to the public.

Join the National TCA Kids Club!
If you’re 12 or younger, you can become a proud member of the TCA Kids Club, operated by the National Toy Train Museum.
As a member, you’ll receive:

- A welcome kit full of train-related goodies

- Access to special events and surprises throughout the year

Are You a Teen Train Enthusiast?
If you’re between 13 and 18, the TCA Teens Club is just for you! This program connects teens with a deeper appreciation for model trains, real trains, and the art of collecting.
